Global Jewellery Academy is addressing the needs

of people with disabilities.

We at Global Jewellery Acadamy recognize that there is not enough Skills Development and Training Centres for people with disabilities. Most Skills Development and Training Centres for people with disabilities are based in the cities.  Disabled people living in rural areas are at a disadvantage as their geographical location leads to poor exposure to economic activities. The Global Jewellery Academy (GJA) purpose is to address the socio-economic status of the people with disabilities (PWD’s) especially the Youth, and we are one of the first in South Africa if not the world to focuses on the training of people with disabilities in jewellery designing and manufacturing. While we are currently training the deaf, academically challenged learners and paraplegics, our goal is to open our training programme to all people with all disabilities as soon as we have the medical expertise to make this possible. The Global Jewellery Academy (GJA) is a Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) accredited Service provider offering; Level 2 Jewellery Manufacturing Course. We now offer incubation services to qualified jewellers.  We also assist in the creation and development of SMME in jewellery manufacturing. The incubation programme renders services such as technical advise, access to equipment, tools, business models, markets and registration of business enterprises. We hope to join these SMME to productive mining companies who will partner with the relevant metal or precious or semi-precious stones.
